Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Center Statement on Maria Corina Machado Receiving the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

ATLANTA (Oct. 10, 2025) – The Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Center congratulates Maria Corina Machado on winning the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize. Her work defending democracy in Venezuela is a powerful example of how courageous leaders can stand up against authoritarianism and build a movement for peaceful, democratic change.

In a world where democracy is imperiled, her fearless persistence inspires us to continue our mission of defending democratic principles and human rights — around the world and increasingly in our own country.

As President Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà said in his Nobel address, "The bond of our common humanity is stronger than the divisiveness of our fears and prejudices."
